What is coaching? How can coaching sessions help?
Coaching is an interactive service that helps people achieve their goals and overcome obstacles. Coaching can inspire self-discovery, challenge negative thinking, motivate through procrastination, and more.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy and coaching are both effective services for recovery and growth. Both involve communicating with a professional in individual or group settings. However, therapists and coaches work toward different challenges. Therapy is an appropriate venue for mental health challenges while coaching is effective for achieving growth and overcoming obstacles outside of the mental health arena. If you are experiencing mental health issues, please reach out for recommendations for therapists.
Is one-on-one or group coaching better?
It depends, of course! Benefits of one-on-one coaching include individualized attention from your coach and focus on your specific goals. Participating in group coaching provides the unique perspectives gained from interacting with others and learning about their challenges and successes. Group coaching can also be more economical than one-on-one coaching.
Does coaching work for teens?
Teens, even young teens, are in a unique position to benefit even more than adults. By challenging behaviors and adjusting thinking patterns at a young age, teens can learn effective coping skills and change strategies before negative habits take hold.
How long is a coaching session? How many do I need?
Deb O'Connor Coaching offers individual 50-minute coaching sessions. You and your coach will work to identify goals that can be achieved within 5 to 10 sessions, optimally one per week for 10 weeks. Group workshops vary in duration.
How much does coaching cost?
Coaching sessions are typically $100 per session purchased in 5- to 10-session packages. Group workshops vary in price but are typically $295 for 6 sessions. The 15-minute initial consultation is free.
Is coaching virtual or in-person?
Deb O'Connor Coaching offers both in-person and virtual coaching sessions.
Is coaching right for me? For my teen?
Coaching helps people who are open to self-improvement and committed to working toward their goals.
Coaching is not a substitute for therapy. Those seeking help with managing mental health issues should seek therapy with a mental health professional.
